The Salon International De La Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) is watch trade show in Geneva, Switzerland and a sales event for the Fine Watch sector.
The main goal of SIHH is to attract retail dealers from around the world to order the up-to-date luxury innovations that will later be sold to customers.
The Friday before this year’s SIHH opened, the Swiss National Bank declared that it would detach its currency exchange rate from the Euro. This obviously inoffensive announcement gradually spread throughout the Swiss watch industry and was the main theme at SIHH. The Swiss franc went up in price at once and watches became more expensive.
SIHH 2015 was a recurrence to serious luxury inasmuch as the majority of exciting new models are utterly limited in production and priced highly. So SIHH 2015 was oriented practically on the ultra-elite consumer.
It is also important to notice that many of the most exciting watches presented at SIHH 2015 were just not new for this year.
